JEHAN NUMA RETREAT
Client: Jehan Numa Retreat
Location: Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh
Architecture: Dean D' Cruz, Mozaic Design
This is a village resort by the Nawabs and hoteliers of Bhopal. The Jehan Numa Retreat was a natural progression from the preceding Jehan Numa Palace and Reni Pani Jungle Lodge projects.
The project involved designing the interiors of the Main Reception, an adjacent Lounge Area, Restaurant, Conference Hall, and Spa including restrooms with all these areas.
The design approach was to keep the interior finishes crisp but not so much as to make them minimal. The material palette included polished cement, wood, natural stone and rich coloured nooks adjacent to light and airy spaces.
HIGHLAND HOLIDAY HOME,

Client: Lardy Abraham
Location: Candolim, Goa
The project was handed over to Freehand Studio for design and execution with a concise brief of transforming it into one that had the amenities of a modern home with a welcoming decor, keeping in mind that it was to function as a holiday home for the owners, and friends and family
We took it upon ourselves to first tackle the layout before decor, so as to create a more functional kitchen, a family room and a powder room that the earlier layout lacked. The materials were kept simple and details that are easy to maintain. Color and material palettes give the feel of a lighter space than before. Layers of decor elements were added to make the space more welcoming and charming.
THE CARONA HOUSE

BEFORE
Client: Shivani Gupta, Munir Kabani
Location: Carona, Goa
Munir and Shivani's house in Carona is more than just a house to its occupants. And they have been more than clients to us as well. The clients are both visual artists and have been collaborators on the project, which we all agree will be work-in-progress until the tiniest details have been addressed to the satisfaction of the various artists and designers involved.
The house clearly has an old section and a new annexure. There has been little effort made to cheat the inherent characters. A major part of our responsibility as the designers on the project included space layouts; the design of doors and windows; kitchen and bath design, Outdoor dining, selection of finishes, fixtures, and fittings; design and execution of bespoke furniture pieces; and storage design.

The needs were well defined before the project commenced and aesthetic choices were left to the designer. This meant redoing both bathrooms and kitchen from scratch. All furniture including built-in and loose pieces were designed or selected with care so as not to clutter the space.
The images from before and after the project reveal the revamp.
